Brian Bergstrom

Fearless Leader

Buckhannon born and raised, Brian earned a degree in computer science from Yale University before returning to his hometown to serve as the editor of The Record Delta for 15 years. My Town WV is the intoxicating fusion of his love of technology, journalism and this wonderful community in the heart of West Virginia. Brian is an avid tea drinker.

Katie Kuba

Editor Extraordinaire

Katie may have been born in a suburb of Philadelphia, but she moved to Buckhannon when she was just four years old, so Upshur County has always felt like home to her. She’s got a bachelor’s degree in English, a master’s in American Studies, and she loves cats. Katie has watched – and once owned on VHS – every single episode of the “I Love Lucy” show.

Monica Zalaznik

Upshur County native Monica Zalaznik graduated from Marshall University with a bachelor’s degree in print journalism and a minor in history. In her spare time, she enjoys reading (a few favorite authors: Brandon Sanderson, Kevin Hearne and Anthony Ryan) and playing video games – especially “The Legend of Zelda.”

Duane Carpenter

Sports Editor

Duane is a longtime fixture along the Upshur County sidelines, Duane brings decades of experience to the role of Sports Editor. He’s always game to chat all things sports, so give him a wave the next time you see him wandering the field or hanging out in the press box.

Tammy Lyons

Digital Marketing Account Manager

Tammy brings more than 20 years of experience to her role as a marketing specialist. She’s done it all, from being an ad rep to running an entire newspaper organization as the publisher. She’s lived in North Central West Virginia her whole life and is excited to be back out in the community, helping local businesses succeed. She and her husband, Sean, live in Tennerton with their extended animal family.
