Governor Morrisey unveils 2025 West Virginia Vacation Guide

Governor Patrick Morrisey recently introduced the official 2025 West Virginia Vacation Guide, a travel magazine celebrating the Mountain State’s natural allure and cultural gems.

The guide, filled with striking images and tips on lesser-known spots, is designed to help travelers plan their 2025 adventures. Residents and visitors can request a complimentary copy online or visit a local welcome center to pick one up in person.

“This guide tells the story of West Virginia,” Morrisey said. “It highlights our natural beauty, growing recreational opportunities and thriving towns filled with local businesses. I encourage everyone to get a copy and discover for themselves what makes West Virginia the shining state in the mountains.”

Organized by experience, the vacation guide offers ideas for exploring the outdoors, immersing in mountain culture and finding relaxation. It also includes insider tips on Appalachian eats, Almost Heaven swing spots and seasonal activities across the state. From unique overnight stays to historic hubs, natural wonders and exhilarating adventures, the guide reveals the many experiences waiting in West Virginia.

West Virginia Department of Tourism Secretary Chelsea Ruby added, “The 2025 guide will inspire you to spend your vacation days in Almost Heaven. Whether you’re a traveler planning to visit for the very first time or a local looking for new ways to experience every corner of the state, this guide showcases all the unique and amazing experiences awaiting you. So bring along the entire family and all your friends — we can’t wait to welcome you to West Virginia!”

Produced in partnership with Dotdash Meredith, the publisher behind Southern Living, Real Simple and Parents magazines, the guide will be distributed alongside 100,000 Travel + Leisure magazines to targeted markets aimed at boosting tourism. Last year, more than a quarter of a million printed guides were sent to travelers both nationally and internationally.
