The West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History has announced the availability of the proposed Annual Work Program for the 2024-2025 Historic Preservation Program. This initiative aims to guide the State Historic Preservation Office in its ongoing mission to assist communities across the state, including Buckhannon and Upshur County, in preserving the physical evidence of West Virginia’s rich history.

Residents and interested parties can request a copy of the proposed work program by reaching out to Claire Tryon, the SHPO Planning and Education Coordinator, at The Culture Center, 1900 Kanawha Blvd, E., Charleston, WV 25305-0300. Additionally, the program is accessible online at the Department’s website at https://wvculture.org/agencies/state-historic-preservation-office-shpo/.

The public is encouraged to review the document and provide feedback. Comments can be submitted using the Work Program Comment Form, which accompanies the work program. Completed forms can be mailed to the aforementioned address or sent via email to claire.e.tryon@wv.gov. The deadline for submitting comments is August 31, 2024.
