BUCKHANNON — The West Virginia University Center for Excellence in Disabilities (CED) is introducing a new initiative called Mind the Gap: Parent Education and Support Group. This program aims to provide guidance and assistance to families with children on the waitlist for autism evaluations or services. Parents with concerns about their child showing signs of autism spectrum disorder are also encouraged to join and gain insight.
Meetings for the support group are scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month, from 6-7:30 p.m., starting in August. These sessions will be held at the WVU CED in Morgantown, with an option for virtual attendance.
