WVU Medicine Children’s and WVRC Media are partnering again for the Cares for Kids Radiothon to support patients and families in need.
The event will broadcast live from the Hostetler Family Resource Center, located on the tenth floor of WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital, on August 22 and 23.
“We’re excited to continue our partnership with WVRC Media,” said Amy L. Bush, chief administrative officer of WVU Medicine Children’s. “Listeners will meet some of our dedicated providers, but most importantly, we will tell the stories of our miracle patients. The Radiothon is a powerful tool to raise the critical funds needed to help the kids and expectant mothers in our community.”
Patients and families will share their inspiring stories with listeners. Healthcare providers from WVU Medicine Children’s will also discuss the importance of the life-saving care offered locally and how listeners can contribute to building a legacy of world-class healthcare.
“All of us at WVRC Media and MetroNews are pleased to assist WVU Medicine Children’s with this Radiothon,” said George Pelletier, WVRC Media president and CEO. “So many children right in our home communities benefit from the dollars raised. Making a child’s visit or stay in the hospital a better experience is a great cause and one that we are proud to assist with.”
Last year, the Radiothon raised $118,903 to benefit patients and families of WVU Medicine Children’s. The funds addressed the hospital’s greatest needs and provided comfort to families during critical times.
This year, 30 radio stations will broadcast from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. from various markets, including Morgantown, Charleston, Beckley, Fairmont, Elkins, Martinsburg, Keyser and Clarksburg.
Information about how to support and donate to WVU Medicine Children’s will be available on each participating WVRC Media station during the event. For more details, visit WVUKids.com.
