WVU researchers develop adaptive robot Loopy to autonomously mark contamination zones
West Virginia University is pioneering a revolutionary robot named Loopy, capable of reshaping itself autonomously to tackle real-world contaminations like oil spills without human programming, inspired by natural phenomena such as ant swarms and plant roots. Led by Professor Yu Gu, the research supported by the National Science Foundation aims to radically transform robot autonomy and adaptability.
